The Search Is On To Find Brits With the Savviest Lifestyles

Press Release   •  Jun 23, 2015 17:29 BST

The first ever Nectar Savvy Lifestyle campaign launches today; a national search to find the person with the UK’s savviest lifestyle - someone who enjoys a few of life’s little luxuries and can indulge by being clever with their money. Judged by a host of experts including; the newest BBC ‘Dragon’ Sarah Willingham, the ultimate ‘yes man’ Danny Wallace and top-nosh telly chef Rebecca Seal, contenders will be setting their sights on a top prize worth up to £10,000*.

Seeking contenders from the length and breadth of Britain, the Nectar Savvy Lifestyle challenge is open to anyone who can demonstrate their prowess with the pounds. The ‘savvy lifestyler’ will have a knack for converting small budgets into rewarding experiences and have the ability to share their savvy secrets along the way.

From all the entries, six finalists will be chosen to compete in five challenges over five weeks, where they will be given a budget and asked to convert the cash into something special and memorable. These money smart ‘goal getters’ will be put to the test to show just how savvy they can be with everyday extravagances by facing a series of tasks including replicating a top designer look and hosting a deluxe dinner party.

Whether through Tweets, Pins, videos or photo sharing, the ‘Savvy Six’ will be leveraging the power of social media to keep the nation and the judges up to speed in real-time as they navigate the stores, sales and secret savvy locations to complete each weekly challenge.

Sarah Willingham, new BBC ‘Dragon’, consumer champion and founder of LetsSaveMoney.com, as well as Nectar Managing Director Will Shuckburgh, will judge the entire competition, with the help of a dedicated expert judge each week to select the winner of that week’s prize worth £1,000:

Abigail Ahern, designer and blogger, Home challenge

Danny Wallace, author, producer and columnist, Lifestyle challenge

Lucie Clifford, fashion stylist at Look, Fashion challenge

Rebecca Seal, presenter on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, Food & Drink challenge

Sharron Livingston, editor of The Travel Magazine, Going Out challenge

Sarah Willingham said; “It’s great to be part of the first Nectar Savvy Lifestyle judging panel, looking at ways to seek an aspirational lifestyle without spending a fortune. Going on fabulous holidays and getting the latest looks for less is becoming second nature to many Brits and the Nectar Savvy Lifestyle competition aims to celebrate this. We can’t wait to see how far these savvy people can make their pounds go as they track down treats on everything from fine dining to fashion."

Will Shuckburgh adds: “We all want that champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget and Nectar is all about championing that. This campaign will celebrate those that know what they want and who go out and get exactly just that, whilst being savvy at the same time of course. The competition will be fun, upbeat and dynamic and I look forward to seeing their tips in my own social feeds this August.”

The weekly challenges, revealed at the start of each heat, will give finalists the chance to bag a prize worth £1,000 themselves every week and the overall winner will take home an additional £5,000 cash prize and 100,000 Nectar points - a potential prize fund worth over £10,000.

Those wishing to enter Nectar Savvy Lifestyle and be in with a chance of winning the amazing prizes on offer can find out more and apply now at www.nectar.com/savvylifestyle before the 19 July closing date.
